Ex-RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das Appointed as Principal Secretary to PM Narendra Modi
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has officially announced the appointment of Shaktikanta Das, former Governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), as the Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. His tenure will be co-terminus with the term of the Prime Minister or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

He served as the RBI Governor from December 2018 to December 2024, successfully navigating the financial sector through challenging times, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic.
