The Maharashtra government has been distributing financial aid of ₹1,500 per month to eligible women since July 2024 under the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana. The 7th instalment was successfully credited in January, bringing the total disbursed amount to ₹10,500 per beneficiary.
5 Lakh Women Declared Ineligible for Ladki Bahin Yojana
Following a detailed review, the Maharashtra government has removed 5 lakh women from the scheme due to ineligibility. Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare announced this update on social media.
Reasons for Disqualification:
1. Already receiving benefits under the Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Yojana – 2.3 lakh women
2. Age above 65 years – 1.1 lakh women
3. Owning four-wheelers or benefiting from Namo Shakti Yojana – 1.6 lakh women
4. Voluntarily opted out of the scheme
This review process ensures that only eligible women continue to receive financial support from the Maharashtra Ladki Bahin Yojana.
